Great news for our Men's Shed as we announce that we have received a grant of £10,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund to continue the great work the programme is doing.

Julie Galano Head of Funding at The National Lottery Community Fund  (NLCF) congratulated us on the grant, "Receiving this award is a mark of the quality of the work you are doing in your community. Congratulations on your grant and thank you for all that you do to support your community. We wish you every success".

Men's Sheds are a national initiative to provide a place for like-minded men to come together and work on a project, learn a new skill or use an old one and get out of the house.

Our Men's shed is a place for men to meet, pursue practical woodwork skills and socialise. It was created in partnership with Ex-Forces Support North Yorkshire (EFSNY), Community First Yorkshire and with support from Veteran’s Woodcraft.  We're open to all men over 50 living in North Yorkshire and meet every second Wednesday 2-4.30pm at Claro Enterprises, Spa Road, Starbeck. 

Since June 2004, NLCF have made over 200,000 grants and awarded over £9 billion to projects that have benefited millions of people. They are passionate about funding great ideas that matter to communities and make a difference to people’s lives. Thanks to the support of National Lottery players, funding is open to everyone.
